When God allowed a fire to destroy the inside of the old semi-attached manse (which had been used for classrooms and fellowship), He graciously provided a symbol of hope for His church. The picture is of a cupboard door which was burned in the fire.No human hand has altered God’s art work in any way.The fire caused some of the veneer to peel away, leaving an image that looks like a burned out city skyline, complete with the colors of smoke and fire in the sky.Rising above it is the clear image of a cross.(Some believe they also see an image of a dove above the cross, although this image is less clear.)We have chosen to entitle this gift of art from God “Resurrection”.It is life abundant rising out of total destruction. It is the certain promise of God, which death itself cannot overcome. God has continued since then to bless and to grow His church so that we might be His symbol of hope and grace for a world in need. The door (now framed and hanging in the sanctuary) is our constant reminder that no life can be so decimated by the ravages of this world as to be beyond His redeeming love.Come and experience with us the immeasurable bounty of His endless grace.
